LIMINALIA

Even with their eyes closed - the Portal was REALLY SHINY - they could almost FEEL the light, permeating their bodies, their sking, touching their eyes and bristling their hair. It certainly was different, it certainly FELT different.

And they could hear whispers, as well.

This fact by itself wouldn’t be any surprise hadn’t the whispers were so… different. At least for Max, who was seemingly the only one able to listen to the previous whispers, which were really disturbing and kind of depressive, like ghosts moanings, THESE whispers had a warm feeling to them. A feeling of… nostalgia? In a overwhelming way.

Max felt homesick.

“Guys, are you hearing this?”

“Yes, Max, if you are referring to the whispers. Meryl, what is this?”

“what am i now? you? what makes you think i am the lore-dropper now? i don’t have all the answers, bunny!”

“It just felt appropriate to ask!”

“hoho i’m just kidding i know what these are.”
