Hello! It’s been a while, huh? Things are looking quite different, aren’t they? I bet you guys have a lot of questions.

Well, okay. I’m gonna explain it anyway LMAO.

> Hitting you guys with THE NEWS

So, after the BIG REDESIGN, I was still feeling the website wasn’t exactly cool as I wanted it to be, so I did a LITTLE REDESIGN and now it’s way cooler (the COOL-O-METER rose from 1% to 5%! At this rate, we shall get FULL COOL by… *pretending to math*  209X!  Can you imagine how it will look by then? Probably even more clowns scattered around, I bet.  No content.  Just clowns.  Everywhere.)

Some of the new design choices were inspired by this really cool website called zona.plankton, by noo.dll. They’re a great artist and also (although not that important, I just thought it was cool ^^))  brazillian!  It’s nice to find fellow BRASILEIROS into the indie-web scene. Go check their website, it’s awesome!

It’s neat to see how much the website has grown since it first launched, several months ago (sorry guys I’m too lazy to do the math). I hope you’re liking the new changes (and the ones that may come through the path).

On another topic, I have some projects ongoing, some pretty cool stuff! Here’s a list, and also some numbers (I have to preserve the little math-shaped-dignity I have rest):

> SNES-ish Album: A new music album, inspired by SNES JRPGs soundtracks, math-rock and Deltarune Chapter 4’s OST. Looks promising! [STATUS: 5% Complete. 1 finished song, 2 demos semi-finished.]

> Animation (whaat?): A little flash animation I wanna work on this weekend. [STATUS: 0% complete. I have it all planned though.]

> MOTHER Retrospective: A long rambling on my favourite Mother game, the first of a series (maybe?). [STATUS: 32, 4% complete (???).]
I have a pretty long, messy array of notes right now. But I’m replaying the game as well, so it might take some time.

> Comic (a really long MAYBE-stretch): I had an idea for a comic. That’s just about it LOL. Probably not seeing the light of day, honestly. (Why did I even wrote it then????????????????????????????)

Now I’m working full time, it’s kinda hard to keep with so many projects at once, but I’m finding this a interesting challenge of time-management skill (something I’ll DEFINETELY need later), so let’s just hope I don’t die haha!

> Alcohol and Ogre-Girls

So last week I was surfing Bluesky and randomly stumbled across a post, mentioning a manga called Alcohol and Ogre-Girls. I was going to ignore it, but something in the (let’s be honest) quite COOL title sparked my curiosity. Atracted by the sweet aroma of sugary yuri stuff, I decided to give it a shot.

Okay guys seriously this might be the best finding of the year. For real.

HOW. I. ADORE. IT.

A bit of context, first, Alcohol and Ogre-Girls ( 酒と鬼は二合まで ) is a slow-burn yuri manga written by Hashiba Minori and illustrated by zinbei (and let me say: that’s a hell of a good work!). It’s currently at it’s 8th volume, with 50 chapters, although (at what it seems) sparsely updated.

The story follows this really bright, extrovert girl called Ibuki Hinata, who’s secretly an ogre cursed with the condition of only consuming alcohol (and ONLY alcohol) offered by a human, and this other girl called Shida Naori, a social innept who dreams of becoming a professional bartender just like her grandfather. The premisse is weirdly adorable. I’m not sure what exactly I was expecting, but still managed to blow away my expectations!

First of all, the chemistry between the main characters is gold! It *might* have developed maybe a *little* too fast by slow-burn parameters, but hey I’m not complaining at all. Seriously, the last thing I want now is waiting another 4 years for two characters to confess (looking at you right now, Nagatoro… Love it, though TvT). The way they grow to care for each other is just delightful to see, and the work is filled with cute, hillarious and heartfelt moments between the two.

Also DAMN NO LOVE RIVALS! EVERYONE RESPECT EACH OTHER HERE THANK GOD!

Throughout the story, more (and more, and more) characters are introduced, one as funny as the previous one. Their interactions are great and the characterization is pretty good! There was this specific chapter, where a new character is introduced, and at first I thought “Oh, right, this is the jackass one.” Only to a few chapters later it turns out they weren’t just the standard jackass trope and ACTUALLY a nice, as-much-as-the-main-protagonists lovable character. Which is awesome! Good characterization is ALWAYS something to praise!

Contra-balancing the classic, sacharine-filled fluffy slice of life segments, the story switches between FIRE action packed scenes, supernatural mysteries, sight-hunting adventures and really cool lore! There are also some pretty neat plot-twists already, and I’m really excited to see what’s next for these adorable dorks.

I already love them.

I just want them to be happy.

Please, Minori-San. Please let them be happy.

Aside fanfics (which I’ve read a GIGA-TON) I never really read that many yuri (and even less manga), so maybe there’s better stuff out there. Who knows? For now, this is my favourite one (surpassing Nagatoro in the ROMANCE-O-METER, surprisingly (I really like Nagatoro guys you have no idea)).

Sadly, this is still a pretty obscure manga. The physical releases stopped after volume 4 (I assume due to poor sales) so I’M TAKING MY PART AS THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE AaOG FANDOM AND SPREADING IT OUT.

Before I go, I want to adress some important points, regarding the website’s update schedule.

Both the BLOG Posts and the TALKIES series are gonna be uploaded MONTHLY, from now on. Expect the Blog to be updated at month’s last day, and a new TALKIES interview on month’s first. Hopefully, I can keep with this pretty realistic goal and update the website more frequently.
