LIMINALIA

“Other nights she lets me pick a book so we can read it together. We like to read fairytales.”

“She has a big, red book, full with all the stories ever written! And it’s full of the most beautiful illustrations. Some of them are a little bit scary, though. Like the one about the wolf devouring the little lambs.”

And Meryl creaked with contempt.

“urgh, i hate wolves! they are the worst.”

And Mr. Rabbit trembled with disconfort.

“I have to agree with you on this one.”

“I think my favourite story was Red Hiring Hood. It is about a little girl walking in a big, dark forest to find her nanna and give her a basket full of candies. But a really bad wolf tries to devour her, and then her nanna. Hahaha, he disguises himself as her nanna, and Red Hiring Hood actually believes it! But in the end eveything gets okay, because the Huntsman appears and kills the wolf with his gun.”

“Uhhhhh, that actually sounds pretty morbid for a fairytale.”

“Yeah, it is a thing on Earth. Old fairytales always had lots of devouring… and children deaths… and wolves.”

“but why the hell was this stupid girl doing in the forest, to begin with?”

“Hahaha, that’s why it’s so funny! It doesn’t make any sense! She’s just dumb!”

And they all laughed.

“She is, indeed, very dumb.”

“and what else you and your mom do together, honey?”
