Meryl was still assimilating all of that, albeit difficultly. Max, however, didn’t understand half of half of it, since Mr. Rato speaked endlessly and complicated-sly.
“Huhhhh, Mr. Rato, does it mean we aren’t changing OUR timeline?”
Weirdly, Mr. Rato ignored the question, and instead turned his attention to Meryl the Mole.
“So, Meryl? What are you going to do? Will you save your friend?”
He had a subtle snarky smile in his face.
“He wasn’t quite grateful to you, was he?”.
Suddenly everything seemed to slow down, and Time felt weird. Max’s voice disappeared, and now there was only Mr. Rato and Meryl.
