LIMINALIA

He leaned back in his chair once again, this time seemingly more relaxed.

“It seems like Time has come for you to leave. Your journey is but beginning. Meryl, you know what to do, right?”

“to change the timeline, i know.”

“I still don’t get it. How are we gonna do it?”

“It is fairly simple, Max.

A timeline is composed, among the infinite frames of Time, of key-moments that determine big deviations, which usually cause the change and or creation of entire chains of events. To these deviations we handle the name “choices”. Your timeline is defined by one choice, which was unfortunately taken wrong. What you must do is alter this choice, which will hopefully bring a new, more satisfactory deviation in your path.”

“how are we gonna know which are the key frames?”

Mr. Rato smiled cynically. He was still the Guardian of the Maze, and wouldn’t let it be so easy for their guests.

“I’ll let this for you to decide. Be wise.”
