Meryl didn’t want to slow down. In fact, what they REALLY wanted to do was run the fastest they could… but they couldn’t do this to the boy.
They gently slowed down, and spoke with a soft tone:
“hey, dear, come here. i know you’re tired, i am too… but we really need to be a liiitle bit faster if we want to get out of here. then we can get some rest, by the grass, with our good friend mr. rabbit, what do you think?”
“Heh, that would be nice. Sorry, I don’t know what’s happening… I felt all tired all of a sudden.”
“hoho, of course! you’ve walked a long way already, my boy! most kids of your age can’t even walk from a room to another without whining like BABIES. look at you, though! you’re trully an adventurer!”
“Thank you, Meryl.”
“here, gimme your hand, let’s keep walking.”
