LIMINALIA

Meryl the Mole approached Mr. Rabbit. Their voice was shaky, like they were holding up to not collapse right there.

“mr. rabbit, i know i haven’t been exactly helpful throughout our journey. i have made poor decisions and mistakes that have cost us precious time and… too much more to even say out loud. i’m also aware that, although well intentioned, most of my actions stressed the hell out of you, who was just trying to help us to make it alive to the castle, so we could save this little boy’s life.”

“i’ve seen with my own eyes the burden you have took to yourself and refused to share. of guiding someone, of protecting everyone. that’s noble of you, but you can’t do it with me, mr. rabbit. you cannot lift it alone.”

Mr. Rabbit was speechless, trying to understand (again) what the HELL was happening.

Had Meryl been affected by some sort of magic curse casted by the Sewers? Why were they being so… accountable?? And WHY were they seemed to be so disturbed out of a sudden?

“Meryl, I…”

Without further notice, Meryl took Mr. Rabbit’s hand.
