LIMINALIA

Meryl the Mole was trembling.

“you’re my best friend, mr. rabbit. my best friend in the entire world. the only i had for years, decades even. you cannot imagine how solitary i was before your silly butt got a way on my door, years ago, and frankly nor did i. and now, i have a NEW friend, thanks to you.”

And they pointed to Max, the Boy, who could do nothing but to wave his hand with a confuse smile.

“I’m happy to have found you guys, as well!”

“that little boy is my friend now, a friend that i have come to take as my very own child, which puts ME, not only you, in account for his safety as well.

and i, mr. rabbit, i WANT to save this little boy’s life. i want to take him home, back to his mom, as much as i want my memories back or this world saved. for him has ressurected my will to live again. can you comprehend it? max, and this crazyass adventure of ours, as well, has ignited me with HOPE.

hope that everything will be alright.

hope that we can suceed on our quest.

and hope that maybe, just maybe…

maybe this world is a place worth to live in, after all.”

They once again pointed to the Red String, passing right behind them, into the Tunnel of Fate.

“i KNOW we must take that path, i feel it in my gears, and i feel it in a way you will never be able to fully comprehend. that path is the only we can take, and i need you to trust me.”

They finished with a sigh:

“i know i’m not exactly the “perfectest” mole in the world, and for that i’m sorry. but please, please listen to me, mr. rabbit.

i know what we have to do, now.”
